doing team work or individual work depends upon persons capabilities.some people interest 2 doing team work some r doing interest 2 individual.i dont think indian people r poor in team work.
ther r so many situations tht indians prooved wht they are.In management, sports, software, business people do team work and they succed.when exams r coming
some students prefer combined studies some prefer individual .ultimate success is important

hi, this topic is really gud and i agree with the views of the friends who had posted. in my point of view indians are gud both at team work and indiviual too. and also ravichand had given best example regarding it and venky too. i think its entirely depends on ones attitude in doing work. if all the individuals in a team had same opnion to win then they can do much better and also the results will be amazing sometimes which we cant expect.and also if one in a team had bad opinion then it will effect the entire team. so wat i want to say is its only the intention and attitude of persons regarding work. as we see human brains are different and also the way of thinking differs from one person to another, if one accept the thing the other may disagree because of ego or something else.we cant do anything but if we have same attitude and gud intention that our team should win even if there is ego exists between the individuals we can overcome it and best example for this is CHAKDHE INDIA film. thank you.

i dont agree that indians are poor team workers.india is the only country with so many religions ,languages and cultures still we are one because we work together.the biggest example is our fight for freedom.we all have worked as a team.yes i do agree that their is a starting problem often and this is due different mentality of individuals and their mindset which is quiet common.

let me start in this way: Indians are not good team player, as we can define, team is a group of competent people who work for achievement of common organizational goal. and a team player can work with any team ... now consider sunil's view that Indians lives in family not as individual. i do agree with u .but how many people in that family are employed, just one or two and the remaining family members just follow them, yes i do agree with the concept of family but that can not prove the team work as each members are not equally competent,
now take into consideration of tennis some of my friend said that when they are playing bhupaati and paes when they had played together they won many titles but due to conflict among themselves they choose different partners......if they are really a team player they would have won many titles after that also. hence giving such kind of example for team player has no meaning in this context.........to take the topic in more positive way it could be said in a GD that indians are team players but there should be a leader to lead them towards their objective.

hello,i thnk working individually is much simpler than working in team.in a team v hav to tk cr of many thngs such as one has to b gud listener, supporter and most imp one has to set aside his /her ego n be generous so dat each n evry one gt his chance to speak out their point of view.so indians r really weak in this..they want to stand on dere view disrespecting n avoiding others view.
ppl today hav becum selfish n jus want to show off..
so i thnk they work individually better

I agree with the concept that Indians are poor in teams. The main reason i guess is traditionally Indians give more importance to individuals than to their ' team work"...You see many Indian heros be it the patriotes or the filmy acters.....rarely people remember and interprete the team work behind any success...many people will appreciate a single cricketer but rarely would appreciate the best team work.......this is a food for the thought that instead of encouraging two children of the same parents to do a team work, We encourage them to compete with each other.......this will improve their individual performance but they will never know that together they can make the best......

i my opinion spirit of doing team work of indian is quiet low this is because people in india are more focused on their own success rather than focusing on their team. this in turn lead to the dis satisfaction and discontent of the people working in a particular industry or sector.therefore people in india are likely to switch to some other sector, and this process goes on repeating, giving low productivity and poor efficiency.so stability and productivity both lies on working in a team rather than competing within a group.its just like two frnds chasing for a single girl.

Well.. I am agree with the points given by Anshu that indians are quiet in proving themselves as a team worker. Taking an example in this context, winning of cricket team is mostly influenced by a single player who performed somewhat well but not as the team winning. In industries also we can see that people get on switching their jobs as they get paid high then their previous company which may lead to ex company's low productivity or profitability. It is basically in nature of indian's that they perform poorly when giving suggestion or working in a team as they can't get off their ego. But the foremost thing is if a person is doing well individually then it is not needed for him to work as a team worker.

exactly...friends
i too is agreed with your views that indians work perfectly individually rather than in team. There are several examples like as we had seen the case of organising committee of common wealth games, there was group of people from different areas like Mr. Kalmadi, Mr. M.S. Gill, Chief Minister of Delhi Sheela Dixit. and the result is well known to every Indian. But if talk about ILP the scene is completely different.
