trade unions should not be allowed as they create caious in the firm and talking about the justice with employees can be handled by the human resource resource department as they are employeed only for the betterment of the employees.

To add to meena's point, I would say trade unions should not be allowed in IT sector. It's the place where almost all the employees are professional. It is not ethical for professional to form unions. Then there will no difference a software engineer and a labour. You can take example Kerala
where because of the trade unions there is no substantial improvement in the industrial sector, even though it has high literacy rate.

sundar my dear frn its not a issue that wether it IT sector or any labour factory employees every, needs are every where, managent is every where so y u want to seprate the people by this issue and who will fullfil the need of IT sector's employees. so i think trade unions must allowed in IT sectors.....

Trade Unions are non formal groups existing with in the organisation...these groups work for the benefit of the worker nd to fulfil their needs nd hence make them satisfied...so if the workers of the organisation are satisfied.They willl work more efficiently nd will be more productive...so trade unions act as a interface between the workers nd employeers .....so thy shd exist in the organisation

Basically, trade union who represent the workers and raise the voice against the interest of labour, and as per the trade union act 1926, there is freedom of formation of trade union, so there is no question wheather its applicable or not ! but if we r talking about the IT or Pharmaceutical sector there is knowledge worker but if u see towards the BPO sector in india there is also knowledge worker but the cases of sexusual harrasment at workplace are going on that is why trade union is must for protect the intrest of employee of the organization. We may see in most of internal unions are smoothly working in many industries. So its depends upon the work satisfaction of employee wheather apply union or not !

i think u all r right but dont u think there should be a link or a bond between company and Workers..
This bond is Trade unions...
they are not only from the side of workers but also from beneficial of the companies point of view too...
if a company is demanding some co operation from the workers side then Trade Union are the ones who can help them out...
Thus it is Important from both the perspective of Labor and the company
