i m totally agree i with the above statement that no body study for MBA bt for job...in today wrld competition has increased to a great height that almost everyone is going for acquiring higher education so that they can be given preference among the common ones..so the need to be extra talented is increasing day by day because the persons are getting conscious towards their career ...so the only possible way for this is to achieve higher education.for instance in cmpany fo a job if their two persons one is simply b.tech and anthr is MBA thn definitely the later one is goin to get a higher position in as compare to the former...

yes i do agree with rachana because now a days people mainly the job seekers will try to get a good job.the best example is we can see in news about the illegal certification providers etc.The main thing behind this is the company will mentions there need like Btech,MBA etc there may so many people who may try to get in good mnc's at any cost that is only having a degree so they may try this worse way.so in my view now study for mba is only a way to get good position

i agree .but some persons are doing mba not for job but for adding a boost to their ancestral business.i have seen some well established businessmen and well established proffesionals who r doing this to just learn management skills.

yes!! i agree with u all but the person is persuing MBA may be for his career growth but he has Masters in Business and he is an business student but not just B.tech one.. i fell wat ever may be the inspiration to get into MBA .the person has persuied it and he is capable of dealing with management.

In the final analysis, our intention is to get a good job and prosper from there. In the present day context, where B Tech degree has become the basic qualification, it is imperative to have something extra to squeeze ahead. This is possible through a MBA degree. One cannot deny that the economy runs on the wheels of finance and recession or no recesssion finance provides the necessary discipline to stay on track. However, a MBA with experience is definitely more fetching and hence it may be said that one seeks a job first and enhances his chances of progress by getting a MBA degree after say 2-3 years of experience.

sry miss rachna bt i dont hv the same opinion..okk we can get a job by showing our mba degree...but what after that..are we going to work for our whole life with that package..no increament nothing..because getting job is an another thig but if we want to establish ourselves in the market and get proper career growth we should have the required skills of a manager..thats why doing mba properly is required..
|
|
said this on 25 Sep 2010 1:37:57 PM IST
true krishna.. i absolutely agree with ur point...
in order to get noticed and to improve our capability doing mba is really good option....
it is where we can totally implement all our skills in the current scenario..
|
|
said this on 28 Oct 2010 10:45:31 PM IST
yes doing mba properly is definitely required but the ultimate aim is to get a good job. obvioulsy pursuing mba from a good reputed college is required to get a good job.. mere pursuing mba doesn,t guarantee a a gud job.. to get into a gud college proper hardwrk nd dedication is the need.. thus everyone directly or indirectly do mba for getting a good job
|
|
said this on 06 Mar 2011 1:43:12 PM IST
I agree with Gunjan. Yes doing MBA with reputed college and with lot of dedication is required to become a successful manager viz a viz a good employee of any company.
But MBA doing is important if we have to do job. But after getting job it is too imp. to work with mind not to earn money simply. otherwise u will be thrown out by company.

pursuing mba from a good college is not only for getting a good job but through this we can improve our managerial skills in a very better way and then some can go to the Upsc or other civil service exams for improving his carrier

akriti! I am not agree with your thought b'coz thousands of people are doing mba merely for job. but how many of them are successful in getting good job.
some are doing for only marriage bcoz nobody want to marry with any undergraduate person.
and Also company require talent and skills in a person.
if u are doing mba and matching ur skills with job profile.
definitely u'll have the job with higher package.

yes its right students come for job ,but ,its not only job its knowledge which is checked while offering job not only MBA degree so its wrong to say MBA is only about job , what about those who wants to start there own business by gaining enough knowledge during these 2 year,
|
|
said this on 21 Feb 2010 3:19:09 PM IST
basically MBA is the way or medium for polishing your knowledge to the great extend in front of others but it is useful for those people who spend some time and seriousness for there work otherwise it is worth.................as there are lots and lots of peoples in this competitive world with great knowledge............if anyone is having that much of potential and talent then surely MBA is the best option for their great future..............
|
|
said this on 30 Mar 2010 8:30:56 PM IST
i m not totally agree with this statement because in today's competitve world MBA is not a easy one because now a days lots of MBA institutes are surviving but only some of them are good, and selecting in those institutes are very tough rather the number of engineering students are choosing MBA why? there is lots of job oppurtunity for them then why are they choosing MBA only because of getting more knowledge .MBA institutes are costly too so when small backgrounds students so they are looking for tgood job in response to his knowledge. MBA is a blend of therotical & practical knowledge by this many students are geting good job and have many options.

I will definately accept this fact as nowdays in a cut throat compition every one aspires to be a suceesful in his life. For this he only preferences to wat to earn higher packages , does not eager to have a knowledge about it. may be for this scenrio ,our industrial pattern is responsible as one has to foolow only strucural pattern.does not need to have any extra kowledge
|
|
said this on 13 Apr 2010 6:38:09 PM IST
I dont agree with the statement..
mba is not only the medium to get job, mba develops your personalty , boosts you up with various skills, teach you how to handle people as well as various circumstances.
after studying various management subjects ,if applied practically in life one can be a wise person..
not only jobs, mba helps one to be successful entrepreneur as well.

said this on 08 May 2010 11:44:20 AM IST
i dont think so.job is not the ultimate purpose of our life.as per as the MBA is concerned acquired knowledge is the main thing.if u have adequate knowledge then surely u will be able to provide something to the universe.

I m totally agree with this statement that "NO one studies for an MBA,every one studied for a job".because in the today's Scenerio there are so many mba collage, and any one can do mba.but can.t get good job after this.so job is priority over mba.
|
|
said this on 03 Jun 2010 8:59:55 AM IST
i do agree with the above statement of rachna,,bcoz most of the population is studying for there betterment of future as well as there need satisfaction.and in these days company's are hiring only those boys having mba , btech & and othere various professionals degrees just for to be an mba most boys have to suffer from various problems.
|
|
said this on 11 Feb 2011 5:36:25 PM IST
i am also strongly agree with rachana why because maximum number of graduates are doing like that at present not only boys as well as girls also may concentrate on bank po's/clerk's
so not only mba they dont have that much of interest on pg courses
In my view my conclusion is to dont stop their studies in graduation my sincere request is to do post graduation in any streme you have interest

i disagree with the statement that nobody study for MBA bt for a job b'coz nowadays mostly girls study MBA to get higher degrees for marriage,so that they can get a highly qualified husband.moreover, some ppl study MBA to become a good managers as well as to handle diff types of ppl....so first preference is to study MBA nt to get a job

I am also agree with this topic.in this competitive environment if u dont gain more knoledge then u cant get a good job and to survive in this costly environment u have to do a best job with more salary.so to get a good job all students are wishing to do mba.
|
|
said this on 17 Dec 2009 12:15:58 PM IST
This view cannot be fully agreed upon. With the current recessions any student will want be assured of a job.Ensuring whether it is appropriate to what he had studied will not play much bigger role now. As pointed out by rachna people study to get preference while getting jobs. Job that has to be done by a B.E student are now also available to an MBA student. When such oppurtunities are given it will be definitely used and hence the students cannot be blamed. So change in the mindset of the employers is needed rather than in the students
|
|
said this on 17 Dec 2009 7:51:39 PM IST
Even MBA curriculums have a tinge of job experience in their curriculum as they also think students should get placed. There should be a change in the mindset of educational institutions to make the students more competent so that they may get any sector rather than putting a stress on just getting a job.

Yes I will agree with the quatation made. In the present scenario every individual is trying to attain maximum position in the society with maximum salary. He or she is choosing their best possible way of gaining such position. Out of which MBA is the major option choosed by so many they have wide range oppurtunities growing in the recent past.I think doing MBA after the completion of degree is not the right thing with out any experience.

I am not agree with this statement because in this present recission everyone want to get job in good MNC's with their knowledge.Studies are not important regarding to job.with doing B.Tech or degree so many are getting jobs in MNC's.After degree only we do MBA.It is one of the experiance in studies it may be a different subject oppurtuniites are different for MBA. But without MBA also we will get job by using technical and non technical skills.

said this on 31 Dec 2009 9:43:46 AM IST
I totally disagree with this statement because MBA has it's own importance and what ever we learns in MBA will helpful totally in our career. And even it is starting step to start business. It teaches many things and even many skills we can acquire through MBA. So we properly utilize MBA , that's more than enough. It will show steps to start your career from starting point.
Let's us take some personalities as examples.
Harsh Boggle he has done MBA through IIMS and how where he is. In his speech he said that what ever i am right now it's all only MBA.
So I mean that it has it's own importance and a gate through to start a business. So i request everyone to utilize this MBA and be one of them in billion persons.
|
|
said this on 31 Dec 2009 6:22:18 PM IST
no doubt mba has a great importance which helps us to grow well in our career. but i think its helpful if and only if we have a work experience along with it. because only then we can practically implement that. But today students who are going for MBA without exprience do this only to be more eligible for MNC's.but not with the motive to gain something.

i totally agree with the statement. but if u look at the basic view point abt 90% of people believe a successful person is one who is earning a handsome salary and for that u have to be an mba if u wanna earn a lot in corporate world. mba is a ticket to enter into corporate world...........
|
|
said this on 10 Jan 2010 10:25:58 AM IST
NO SORRY DEAR I DONT AGREE WITH UR POINT THAT MBA IS THE TICKET TO ENTER IN THE CORPORATE WORLD.UNLESS AND UNTIL U DONT HAVE EXTRA KNOWLEDGE N OTHER QULIFICATIONS.
SO ONLY MBA IS NOT ENOUGH TO EARN HANDSOME SALARY AND ENTER INTO CORPORATE WORLD.

i m very sorry to say vishal , but successful person are the one who earn money through his knowledge, skill and hard work, many people are there in world who earn money through bad source, are they successful person? so getting knowledge is the most important thing , which can be used throughout your life..

i do agree with every1 b'z each one has their own perception.. first of al doing mba is to improve our knowledge.. after tat only job .. so many people do mba as a passion ..even though so many prefer for a job... we should be in a postion to learn and experience everything in our post graducation ... with zero knowledge no companies wil opt us.. so first preference which i give is to mba.. and not job..

I too have an opinion smililar to miss Rachna. See we get skills from MBA is ok things but thats why we get that skill obviously to be a good Coorporate player. SO we can consider MBA as a pavement that leads us to job or entrepreneurship.

i would like to be unbiased in this.....the reason for my being unbiased is that we all know that we spend almost 23 yrs of our life studying.....n y do we do this,,,,,so that we can earn some respect in the society for ourselves as well as our families....so its fine that most of the people r opting for mba in todays so called competitive world.....but what i think is that atleast the engineering students should not opt for mba. why do i say this!!!!!!!!!! it is bcz an engineer spends nearly 6 yrs of his life goin thru the techi topics n suddenly he diverts himself to a commerce field which i think is nt a good option.......in other words an engineer in such a case becomes a DHOBI KA KUTTA NA GHAR KA NA GHAAT KA........
|
|
said this on 12 Feb 2010 11:44:50 AM IST
dear frnd you might have had a bad experience but let me tell you one thing that MBA iis not all about commerce and finance. MBA only helps in polishing the personality of an individual so that he can become more competitive. i wud like to add one more thing that there are certain specializations like supply chain management also in MBA which acts as a boost for those engineers who want to pursue their career in manufacturing and automobile sector because a major portion of these sectors depends heavily on their logistics. Mba also helps in dealing in a better way with the people around you and how to handle various controversial situations in life.

|
said this on 24 Dec 2010 1:47:05 PM IST
i also think Mr. Sumit has used a bit of harsh words...........i just wnt to put an example here that in IIMA most of the students taken addmission or sud i say more eligible are the IITians............Y so ............B'coz they have the technical knwledge now they want to learn management skill......n i think there is nothing wrong in it.
|
|
said this on 25 Mar 2012 5:43:38 PM IST
i m not agree with u ................engineer can make the products but only an mba holder can manage how to make that product and sale them in market . and there are various field in mba not only commerce is there operatioanal mba is also there. An people are doing mba only to learn the management skills ,technique so that in future he can be a good manager or an entrepreneur . so doing mba just for the sake of getting job is not an good option in these case u r just like donkey like someone kept a mba degree on your shoulder and u r doing job for it.................

First lets talk about what does MBA stand for??Its Master of Business Administration...What was the main motto of the colleges which have been giving millions of people an MBA degree every year when they were started??wasnt it to give our nation fresh and talented entrepreneurs who after doing MBA would enter into the business world.Sadly but truly the scenario had changed now. There are various reasons for this.People look for financial security first rather than looking at the whole concept of MBA.I completely agree that it's difficult to get the funding for starting a new business. But there also have been cases where individuals opted out of the jobs given to them and started their own enterprises. As an example Sanjeev Bhikchandani, founder of naukri.com,who doesnt know about his success story, but the initial struggle was indeed difficult.
Now coming to the topic of discussion, I would like to say that in todays world, considering the lucarative jobs offered to the MBA's, people have started to take it merely as a way of becoming financially secured by getting a job and have forgotten completely what MBA used to be,when the whole concept started.
|
|
said this on 04 Feb 2010 7:38:03 AM IST
how can v forget that getting a job, we need to go through strict procedure of written test, Gd and interviews where you are judged on the basis of what you have in you not in your certificates.
getting certificates is only a step to get the particular job but what matters is the level of knowledge you have acquired studying that particular course whether a MBa or a B. Tech.
one can make an interviewr fool by arranging fake certificates but one cant acquire a fake knowledge that has to be real.
Yes i agree that many of us dont study for a course rather for a job but it doesnt mean that we dont study at all, because every one knows that at the end it is going to pay us nothing.

I think todays world is full of competation, gone are the days when people used to get jobs after B.A/B.com,and being a graduate was considered a great thing,,,,,2days world is so competitive that u have to have a exta edge to survive,,,and I belive mba provides us that extra edge.Yes I agree that the ultimate aim of doin MBA is to get a gud job,,,but I also want to say in the mean time dat is 2 years of MBA we will gain a lot of knowledge ,and industrial training ,so dat we can shine out in our field of work after Mba degree. Thus Mba serves both the purpose.

I do agree with Sreekanth. Now a days every one wants to take B.tech or MBA to get greater position in their life. For this some people trying to get certificate from illegal certificate providers or some people join the colleges which don't have proper affiliation and all.So quality of education also decreases .Today in India there are many MBA/B.tech colleges in every bus stop. This shows the situation .Gov also lack the better procedures to control these colleges. So I think gov should have to scrutinize the current laws and procedures and parents and students have to analyze the current education system and have to consider the other options also.So people should have to select the proper courses through which they get more joy in their life

ever coin has two sides....so as this staement...
everyone in this whole world runinng for money ..by job or business they want to earn money.
and today's world our gradute thinks tht MBA is a key to earn money, may be frm ne college. I think it is d wrong approach. bcoz dere r many MBA students, still unempoyed bcoz they don possess d skills required in tht compettive market.
so MBA is nt d gurrantee of a good job.
And some exceptions are also there who wants to go for MBA because they want to become entrepreneurs. nd start their own venture.
so MBA is nt d gurrantee of a good job.
But as we see present condition of Indian market.
I do agree wid this point.

According to my view it's not fact that every one is study for job not for mba. I think most of the people think like this and do like that but there are many people who study mba for the knowledge point of view . They want to learn the perfect manegement system..... we know that most of the IIMs passout students creates their own business. they don.t think only till the stage of job under others. such kinds of mentality exist only in those guies who can't think more than a job. There are many talented guys lives in our country and out of the country who think more than a job in the starting time when they think to do mba. For those people job is just like a training for there existing self business in the life.

The first thing is, learning things n implementing wt u ve learnt is far different. No doubt everyone is trying get higher education to get more money. But few of them take d risk n implement their knowledge by starting a company or any new business. If everyone will be starting a new company, then it will create problem and also if everyone will be working on their own then whom will u hire? So the point is if you are ready to take risk n if you that much confidence in yourself to start a new thing, then it's all right. Otherwise get the higher education, work for a mnc, get a good money. and live happily like a common man...

Yeah. I agree with Mishra. Those who want to take risk in management and in addition to that if they are confident , they must apply for their own business. Well, some persons have a notion that mba is only for job and earn large amount of money but I am not agree totally with them. By doing MBA, we can shape our personality and outpour our leadership qualities.

I agree with the fact that higher studies are essential like a Btech student if further goes for Mtech then he/she gets specialized in that particular subject and develops an interest towards that field.
Because nowadays there are many engineering colleges opened in the country students join them spend four years any how pass there exams and many of them eventually get jobs.BUT WHAT NEXT.Do they have any interest in there work? A BIG NO?
On the other note another student doing MBA or Mtech can get a better satisfactory job and better life.

In todays scenario...people think that MBA is a booming course in which they can get a good job in MNC's.so this kind of people comes for job in this course..but some students who goes for in Executive MBA just want to enhance their knowledge to get preference over others..as ms. rachna pointed out very beautifully MBA is like getting preference over a common aspirant for a job.
MBA is like getting specialization in field of business for many subjects lke Spply chain management..product management, risk and insurance management etc..for which a company prefer a MBAin for his/her specialised knowledge,so to get job in this field many people do MBA for gettin specializated knowledge.
Now a days many companies provied training and development program to enhance their employes skills...
So in my views MBA is enhancing the skills but yes some students take it as a job gurented program..

i agree with your point that some students take it as a job gurented programme. MBA is not onlly to get best co's for getting placed but it is for polishing the knowledge, brush up the skills. in MBA many practical taken place like case studies, business games, projects like summer training with is helpful for a person to visualise the situations and find solution in their own way. so in my opinion it is not only for getting good job infact it is more than that.

hi, friends i went through all comments and i appreciate your views. But in first place why should be debate on this. Doing MBA will ultimately result in enhancement of our personality ,MBA is not about giving exam and clearing it with top marks but to do well in business interview. What if a person a topper in MBA fails to deliver in business what is expected of them? do you think the organization will keep such candidate in ? i feel the obvious answer is no a big NO. irrespective of the degree he holds he wont be able to sustain hence MBA is not a guarantee of good career its about learning and using experience to enhance business. it helps you to get better insight of the business . So i strongly disagree that MBA is for money only ? I feel its about interest and personality development.
as far as other fields are concerns scopes are everywhere what matters is the expertise in the perticular field and most importantly how knowledgiable you are?

All are given good view and thoughts but any one realize that on what base people (we) are doing MBA or the study what we are getting in MBA it is proper or not. If you see any MBA book, the example what we get it is too old like 1960, 65 etc.. do you think it is fit in today’s environment, No because the scenario of today’s & older time is very different. I mean to say that if you doing MBA only for the better prospectus. That is true/nice because today that is the basic need of human being but why people not thinking with other scenes to changing the view and thoughts of MBA book in India. We also need the book which is on latest scenario. Why we always get things late and other (Europe countries) have updated one. We need to change these things, if we change this. We will get more job opportunity, what we getting now

I agree with all of u, because now a days only spoon feeding education is carried out no student has extra knowledge other than syllabus so no extra skills are developed if such student are work as employee then how the development of compny is not possible so to develop person as employee then we have to concentrate on MBA i.e. management studies.

its very true...today education is counted in money.. Taking a MBA degree is not a great deal. Even if a student is not intrested in management field he just takes the addmision in order that he gets a job. In short for a safe future he takes that field in which he was never intrested.
