a sting operation is a deceptive operation designed to catch a person committing a crime.....i think it is good for our system it presnts us a view that what our ideal persons are doing.especially the politicians though through this way v r interferring in someone privacy...it shows their another face...if they are good thn its f9.othrwise it shows the reality of their character..An operation by an online news site called Tehelka to catch top politicians and army officers taking bribes from journalists posing as businessmen....was an effective one...sometyms medis misuse string operations jus for gettin popularity..this should not be done...the only motto of the string operation should be public welfare...

i am agree with the points a sting operation is good as till as it is for right purpose. this is a very nice way to show that faces of people & illegal issues which directly can't made to come in front.
So this is impressive way to go to the inner layers of the issue without giving time for the criminals to escape from the matter. but it should be done in extreme cases only because by this operation we interfere in someone's privacy.

First of all i wanna talking about what is media?.Media is mediator of people and what is happening in the rest of the world.There are two type of media 1)Electronic media like T.V,internet and 2)Print media like news paper.We know the role of media is vital in 21st century.We can't get any information or news without media.They don't have more time they are also use mobile internet.In rural area they are also getting news or weather telecast through media.If we are taking an example,tomorrow entire kolkata would be stop because of "BANDH" OR "STRIKE",if we don't know about this we would be trouble.But media given us some fake information or scared about some matter.We have to avoid this things.After all we are unable to get news without media and 21st century can't move without media.We can't ignore the role of media.

sorry we are not here to discuss about media, talking about Mr. surajit dutta...the question is media sting operation is good or bad for our system...well as per my view i am totally agree with this point, sting operation is very important for our system to showoff the hidden faces of criminals .Its not easy for any one to directly claim on any fraud's. But before starting sting operation by any media its very important to have a clear clue about that criminal person. we should take these kind of operation in extreme cases only because its all about interfering of any person privacy.

I think sting operation is the work of police and media should not interfere in this.Secondly everything shown on news channels I dont think it is 100% true.They do add many more 'masala' to the news for TRP.Right now the situation is we cant blindly believe what media showing.I have seen very few time media appreciating people cant media showcase that also.....

According to me, sting operations in films are really essential.....but it purely depends upon the scene which they are imposing....they should show the real face of a crime....but it should not be like over exaggerating....and i suppose Mr.ajaj's comment....and uneducated people, blindly believes these stuffs...so its better to tell the truth other than adding spices to make it more hot.....

i partially agree with "vaishu" but they is need of media when they is a crime and corrupt people doing illegal activity's. media work is to spread news with telecast the truth and they have to come out with such proof not with extra masala. Media is very strong in 21st century. public perception is watching Tv and they know the reality but "its not true" media hide many thing to do business. but media is equally important to is world for daily updates

i think sting operations by media do help to discover the wrongs done by ppl who ussually project themselves to be honest and live dual lives, for police to enter into sting opersations there are lot of formalities to be carried out but tht doesnt happen in case of media. and the icing on the cake is ppl are caught on camera while the wrong is being committed. which i think is the best part but well every coin has 2 sides so it does have its own negatives but positives are still high
